A bit about me

In a nutshell?  Creative, responsive and solutions focussed. Beyond that?  Resilient, funny and empathetic.  Love technology and old stuff.

I started in television and worked in Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney and Melbourne as a writer, producer, editor and journalist.  That's where I learned:

  • how to tell a story

  • how to separate fact from noise

  • I was better behind the camera than in front of it.

Went to university to get a business diploma in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.  That's where I learned:

  • how to evaluate a business idea

  • how to minimise risk

  • how to sell the idea

That led to a new business venture.  A wild ride on the bleeding edge of technology. In the end it was wrapped up. That's where I learned:

  • what's involved in managing a fast growing business in a tech space

  • how important it is to protect your business information

  • a business failure will teach you much more than a business success.

After a brief diversion, I was hired as an executive in one of the country's largest media organisations.  That's where I learned:

  • how to manage very large projects in a complex organisation

  • how to do change management on a large scale with a diverse workforce and get genuine buy in from the staff.

  • how to prepare and implement policy, particularly around safety in the workplace

  • how to write sophisticated business documents for both business and political audiences

I've left that now and have spent the last few years working on websites, social media and selling online..

Briefs are well taken, deadlines are always met.  Barter will be considered in return for work, but needs to be negotiated in advance.
